veiled MOURNING

Veiled Mourning began as an encounter with improvised Halloween ghosts—figures made from ordinary cloth, animated by absence.

The ghost figure is coupled with aspects of Victorian mourning traditions, yet rejects their visual code of concealment. Light lace replaces black; exposure replaces veiling altogether. Mourning is treated not as something hidden, but as something that alters what can be seen and carried.
